Deed of Gift: Gift of Love (2)

Hello Fam!

Trust your week has been productive and rewarding. We’ve had a handful at the Online Law Clinic; firstly, our February Edition of the Free Legal Consult for Entrepreneurs and StartUp Founders ended on the 29th day of February, 2020 and as usual we took a little break. We’ve earned it, I hope.πŸ€”πŸ€”Secondly, our Charity Outreach was a blast, pictures will be shared over the weekend, don’t go anywhere.

Kindly recall that we notified you of an ongoing “small project” special shout out to everyone who guessed correctly (and wrongly too😎) the “small project” was our Charity Outreach.

Massive shout out to everyone who supported us and trusted us with their resources! We are grateful and we do not take your support for granted.

Today on the Family-Law-Series, we round off our feature: Deed of Gift; Gift of Love (2)πŸ’“

Remember our 3 (three) scenarios, in case you’ve forgotten, please click on the link below for a refresher.

In all the 3 (three) scenarios, a Deed of Gift is the most appropriate and prudent means of ensuring that the interests of the identified persons are well protected.

Equally, persons with peculiar religious affiliation who have been precluded from making a Will, are enjoined to make a Gift of the Property (ies) to their identified beneficiaries.

I leave you with the following thoughts:

a.  Gift is an absolute transfer of ownership.

b. Upon the acceptance by the recipient, the Gift is deemed to be complete and cannot be reversed. (Of course there are exceptions to every rule)

c. It accommodates both tangible and intangible Properties.

d. It is not as technical as a Will.

Thank You.

NB: We’ve been requested to comment on the ongoing issue of the dethronement of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II. Please be guided, the Online Law Clinic is not a Political Platform and the  brand we are building does not accommodate a discourse of such an issue. Thank you.
